It's blazing hot here but I gotta run
Up in Sonoma County at 4a it is still 80 degrees and weather.com shows today’s forecast as “Blazing Hot”. I am concerned about my dogs who will be left at the house, I hope the new dog sitter keeps the water full and let’s them in and out often. I am off to ExactTarget’s in Indianapolis for a day of meetings tomorrow, so I will be off line most of today and tomorrow....
Hanna 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley
Tonight we had a bottle of Hanna 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley with some Thai Curry Chicken and rice. The was was excellent (I gave it 4 stars) and was nicely paired with the spicy food. The wine had an excellent aroma and a great taste which was only slightly spicy. I bought it at CostCo for $22.99 so it is a great value and a great wine, but not one that I would be able to afford...
It was hot in Sonoma County
I tried to get out early for my “lunch” bike ride but client stuff kept me in until around 11. It was already getting fairly warm but I took off any ways. By the time I hit the 30 mile point it was already north of 90 degrees and when I turned into the Dry Creek market, it was around 97 degrees. This is May, not summer, and it is going to get hotter this weekend. To compare this to...
Bogle Vineyards Old Vine Zinfandel 2006
Tonight we had a bottle of Bogle Vineyards Old Vine Zinfandel 2006 and we found it to be a very nice wine, good for an everyday event. My brother is a big fan of the Bogle wines, but I have found most of the Bogle Merlots and Cabs to be bland and not very interesting. However I would say that the Old Vine Zin is now my favorite Bogle wine. I was able to get it at CostCo for around $12 so it is...

Great tune to help me finish my work day, way too long.
All Work and No Play is No Fun
All day today (yes I know it was Sunday) was a work day. I have put these things off for way too much time and I am now paying the price. I had two market research reports for a recent surveys to get out for tomorrow, two proposals to prepare including one for a UK based company and preparation for another presentation on Wednesday. I know it is my fault when I go out and play, but I hate it...
Saturday Afternoon Ride
Today was a hill ride and I am paying the price right now. Rode out Westside Road to Mill Creek and climbed about 75% of the way up. This is a killer hill ride, finally maxed out on a 22% grade. Then returned to Westside and rode up to West Dry Creek and out to Lake Sonoma. Total ride was only 65 miles but it was close to 4000 feet of elevation. A great ride on a beautiful day in Sonoma...
Rodney Strong 2005 Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon
Last night we had a bottle of Rodney Strong 2005 Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon and it was a very nice complement to our chicken pot pie. I found it to be a very nice bottle of wine that is more than acceptable for an every day occasion. The wine has enough complexity to mix with most foods but is not over powering. Bought it at CostCo for $11.99 which is a great price.
Friday Afternoon Road Ride
Today was a beautiful day in West Sonoma, temperatures in the mid 80s and by 4p the outdoors were calling. So I grabbed my bike and road out to Occidental via Harrison Grade and up to Freestone, then slowly made my way back into Sebastopol and home. It was a great ride and one of the many that I enjoy here in Sonoma County. If you are into road biking, please join the Santa Rosa Cycling Club,...
