Last day of the year and even though it was cold and foggy out we went. Given the inspiration from Eric’s ride yesterday we decided to head down to the coast and climb some the hills down there. Headed out Harrison Grade up to Freestone and then out the Coleman Valley and Joy route to Bodega. Lots of climbing with over 4.500 feet but very cold and damp when we finally got home. Average heart rate was 130 bmp so it was a good workout also.

Cold and foggy when it was time to start, and it crossed my mind to bring out the rollers, but now out we went. Hit a bunch of rollers riding around the wine country at a nice pace given that there was some ice on the roads and it was cold and windy. First time I have have had a ride over 3 hours in almost a month so I was just happy to get out and enjoy the ride. Total elevation was 1,976 feet and average heart rate was 131 bpm.
Tried to get out yesterday as it was a clear day albeit a little cool. However I saw that I had a busted spoke and needed to go into the LBS to get it fixed. While I was there I fell in love with what I hope some day maybe my new bike, a BMC Pro Machine, what a beautiful machine, if I only had the money!
Rain and cold today and tomorrow so my hopes are high for a ride on Monday during the lunch hour.

Finally a break in the skies and out I go for an early lunch ride. It was still cool (around 50) but the sun brought through and given that we are going to have rain for the next two weeks, out we go. It was a nice ride, nothing too fast as the road are very wet and the drivers are in a crazy zone. Total elevation was 1,292 feet
Yea, finally a clear day without the fog and damp conditions. Although the temperature was still very cool (around 52) the blue sky yelled at me to get out and ride. It was great to get in one of my normal training rides and do some interval training. I was able to post my fourth best split time for the interval training and given the lack of recent training I was happy about that. Total elevation climbed was only 1,218 feet.

Beautiful day in Sonoma, warm and blue skies. I had a bunch of client work to do, but with a day like today I had to get out. Rode over Sweetwater Springs which is one of the toughest climbs here in West County. A great day even if my pace was a bit slow, it was great to get out. Total elevation climbed was 2,816 feet.
Today was hard to get motivated, it is cold and gray outside and I was not fully up to speed. However we got out and did the ride, good pace but not great. Total elevation climbed was 1,319 feet.
